On the 19th of May in Syktyvkar, the opening of the International symposium “K.F. Zhakov: life and creative work”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous Komi writer, scholar of the late XIX – XX century, Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov was held. The event was conducted by the Ministry of National Policy of the Republic of Komi and the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Komi Republic together with the State Budget Organization “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”, State Autonomous Organization of the Komi Republic "House of Friendship of Peoples of the Komi Republic", the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin, the administration of the municipal district “Syktyvdinsky”.
