On February 4, 2019 will be celebrated the 130th anniversary of the birth of Pitirim Alexandrovitch Sorokin (1889-1968).
In May 2018, the Ministry of National Policy of the Komi Republic approved a working group for the preparation and holding of jubilee events. Also, there was approved a plan of events, dedicated to the memorable date. The central event will be the International Scientific Conference “Pitirim Sorokin and paradigms of global development of the XXI century (to the 130th anniversary of his birth)" which will be held in September 2019 in Syktyvkar.
