Lecture in the Syktyvkar Humanitarian Pedagogical College named after I.A. Kuratov

On November 12, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Ekaterina Maiorova again visited Pedagogical College named after I.A. Kuratov and gave a lecture on the fate of Pitirim Sorokin in the period of emigration. This time the listeners of the lecture were the second-year students.



The second-year students learned why the famous scientist had to leave his homeland, and how his fate developed outside of Russia. The children listened with interest about how Pitirim Sorokin managed to miraculously avoid the death penalty, and why he was disappointed in the revolution. Students learned what an interesting path our countryman had to make in order to become the world famous scientist. The lecturer got acquainted students with the main works written by Pitirim Sorokin during the years of emigration. Also, the second-year students listened with interest to how Pitirim Alexandrovich, being far from his homeland, helped his peoples in the difficult fight against fascism during the Second World War.
