On March 28, one of the traditional youth events of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin was held – the Republican Olympiad “The Life and Creative Work of Pitirim Sorokin”, dedicated this year to the 130th anniversary of the famous scientist. It was held at the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin.
This year 35 schoolchildren and students from ten educational institutions of Syktyvkar, Ukhta and Koygorodok took part in the Olympiad.
The task of the Olympiad traditionally consisted of two parts: the first part was a test task of knowing the facts of the biography and creative work of Pititirm Sorokin. The second part was traditionally more creative – participants were asked to reflect on one of the famous phrases of the scientist about life.
After checking the test part and the essay written by the children, the jury defined the following winners:
The 1st place was taken by Yurieva Anastasia, the first-year student of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin, Syktyvkar
The 2nd place was taken by Polyakov Yuriy, pupil of the 10th grade of the Technical Lyceum, Syktyvkar
The 3rd place was divided between three participants:
Nitchenko Andrei, the first-year student of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin, Syktyvkar
Zabelina Lydia, the first-year student of the Industrial Institute (SVE) of the Ukhta State Technical University, Ukhta
Malakhov Alexey, pupil of 10th grade of the Technical Lyceum, Syktyvkar
