The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin is pleased to announce the publication of the regular volume of the Collected works of P. Sorokin – “Popular essays of the theory of law, sociology and social pedagogy”.
The seventh volume of the Collected works of the world-famous sociologist includes three popular science books written by him in 1919-1923: “Elementary textbook of the general theory of law in connection with the doctrine of the state”, “Public textbook of sociology” and “Popular essays of social pedagogy and politics”.
Almost a hundred years have passed from their first edition, however, they have not lost their relevance and scientific and pedagogical potential. In addition, together they represent the first draft of a grand sociological system created by P. Sorokin in the following decades. “Popular essays of social pedagogy and politics” is published in Russia for the first time.
The publication will be useful to those who are just beginning to study law, sociology and social pedagogy, and to those who are interested in life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin.
