On July 13, the Center “Nasledie” visited the 6th Interregional Festival of blacksmithing “Kort Aika”, which was held in Kortkeros. Despite the cloudy weather, the festival gathered numerous guests who were invited to participate in various master classes and competitions, as well as visit the traditional fair of guest yards.
The Center prepared for the guests of the festival a small quiz on the biography of Pitirim Sorokin. Answering the quiz questions, the participants learned about the interesting facts of the life of P. Sorokin, who was born and grew up in the Komi region. The guests of the festival showed great interest in the amazing fate of a fellow countryman who was forced to leave Russia and move to the USA, later becoming a famous sociologist.
In addition, the guests were invited to get acquainted with well-known works by Pitirim Sorokin, which were published by the Center “Nasledie”: books “Hunger as a Factor”, “Leaves from a Russian Diary”, “Laundry of Human Souls”. Among the publications was also presented the journal “Nasledie”, which publishes various articles on philosophy, sociology and cultural studies.
For participation in the quiz, the participants were awarded sweets and brochures about the life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin.
