The regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin was on the 13th of March, 2015. Traditionally, for the debate, an actual topic was chosen, which one way or another affects each of us.
Students of the Syktyvkar State University were asked to understand what would bring sanctions to Russia: destruction or development? The team of the Institute of the Humanitarian Sciences - Baranova Alexandra and Batenkova Ekaterina argued that sanctions cause great damage to the country’s economy and lead to negative consequences. Students from the Institute of History and Law – Roman Osipov and Roman Shelaev – proved that sanctions are an excellent opportunity for Russia to make a breakthrough in all sectors of the economy and become a country with high-tech economy.
