State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On the 19^th of March, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin conducted a lecture, which covered the late period of life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin - his life in emigration, for the second-year students of the Syktyvkar Humanitarian-Pedagogical College after I.A. Kuratov.

The list of educational institutions with which we cooperate in the framework of conducting lectures was added by a new institution. On the 16^th of March, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin visited the Syktyvkar Humanitarian-Pedagogical College after I.A. Kuratov for the first time. For the first-year students were conducted two fascinating lectures «Biography of P.A. Sorokin: revolution» and «Sociology of P.A. Sorokin: social mobility».

On the 15^th of March, at the meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin a heated discussion took place on a very current topic: «Modern technologies in our life: development or degradation?”.

The Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin and the Institute of Humanitarian sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin announce the holding of the Republican Olympiad «Life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin».

On the 14^th of February, lyceum students (9th and 10th grades) attended a lecture on the theory of social mobility, one of the most famous scientific theories of the 20th century, developed by P. Sorokin.

On the 10^th of February 2018 marks the 50^th anniversary of the death of the famous Russian-American sociological scientist, one of the founders of the theories of social stratification and social mobility - P.A. Sorokin.

In the summer of 2017, in Italy there was a book “Social and cultural dynamics: revisiting the work of Pitirim Sorokin”. The author of the work is Emiliana Mangone, Associate Professor of Sociology of Culture and Communication at the Department of Human, Philosophic and Education Sciences, University of Salerno (Italy). At the moment, this is the only book in a foreign language dedicated to this memorable date.

On the 9^th of February, in the Gymnasium after A.S. Pushkin the lecture on the topic: “Fairy Biarmiya of Kallistrat Zhakov” has been held for pupils of the 11^th class.

On the 8^th of February, a methodist of the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin Ekaterina Mayorova held a lecture for pupils of the 9^th class in the Lyceum of People's Diplomacy on the topic: «From war to peace: the contribution of the Sorokin’s family to the victory over fascism».

On the 4^th of February, on the birthday of Pitirim Sorokin, the director of the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin O.Y. Kuzivanova visited Turya, the birthplace of the world-famous sociologist. Together with the member of the Federation Council V. P. Markov, they placed flowers to the memorable stele of P. Sorokin, visited the House of Culture in Turya and the museum after Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 2^nd of February, the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin gathered scientists, who studied the scientific and creative heritage of Pitirim Sorokin, at the traditional Sorokin readings dedicated to the birthday of the famous sociologist. The round table brought together scientists who study the heritage of P. Sorokin from different perspectives - sociologists, historians, political scientists, culturologists, and linguists. They noticed that the creative work of the famous sociologist continues to attract new researchers, confirming the continued relevance of P. Sorokin’s ideas to this day.
