State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On the 19^th of April, methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin again visited the Humanitarian-Pedagogical College  after I.A. Kuratov and read two lectures on the topics: “Biography of P. Sorokin: emigration” and “Sociology of P. Sorokin: social mobility”. This time students of the 4th year listened the lectures.

Sergei Pitirimovich Sorokin, the youngest son of the famous sociologist Pitirim Sorokin, turns 85 years old today.

On the 6^th of April, in the Humanitarian-Pedagogical College after I.A. Kuratov students were awarded certificates for taking part in the Republican Olympiad «Life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin». The Olympiad is held annually by the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin together with the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 5^th of April, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin continued to familiarize students with the biography of an outstanding sociologist, our countryman Pitirim Alexandrovich Sorokin and read two lectures on the topics: “Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: childhood and students years” and “Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: revolution”.

On the 3^rd of April, The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin together with the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin held a traditional event – the annual Republican Olympiad «Life and creativity of Pitirim Sorokin». There were invited high school students and students of junior courses.

On the 29^th of March, the first-year students of the college continued their familiarity with the biography of Pitirim Sorokin, paying special attention to the period of emigration. Also they examined the theory of social mobility, the founder of which was a scientist.

On the 28^th of March, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin met with the first-year students of the Syktyvkar Humanitarian-Pedagogical College after I.A. Kuratov in order to continue a series of lectures about the life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 26^th of March, in the framework of the Theater Week dedicated to the World Theater Day, an interesting performance on the book by Pitirim Sorokin «Laundry of human souls» was shown at the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 23^rd of March at the Faculty of Sociology of the Saint-Petersburg University was a presentation of the Collected Works by P.A. Sorokin. The opening speech was made by the Head of the Faculty of Sociology, Nikolai Genrikhovich Skvortsov, who warmly greeted the participants and guests. He reminded the audience, that P. Sorokin stood at the origins of the creation of the sociological faculty at the University of Petrograd.

On the 26^th of March the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin again visited the Syktyvkar Humanitarian-Pedagogical College after I.A. Kuratov and held two lectures on the topics: «Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: childhood and students years» and «Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: revolution».
