State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On November 15, the Center “Nasledie” continued a series of lectures on the biography of the famous sociologist Pitirim Sorokin in the Syktyvkar Humanitarian Pedagogical College named after I.A. Kuratov. The second-year students listened to a lecture on the topic: “Biography of Pititirm Sorokin: revolution”.

On November 12, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Ekaterina Maiorova again visited Pedagogical College named after I.A. Kuratov and gave a lecture on the fate of Pitirim Sorokin in the period of emigration. This time the listeners of the lecture were the second-year students.

On November 8, the first-year students of the Syktyvkar Humanitarian Pedagogical College named after the founder of Komi literature I.A. Kuratov got acquainted with our other famous countryman, the world famous sociologist Pitirim Sorokin. The methodists of the Center “Nasledie” held two lectures for students and told about the childhood of the famous scientist he spent in the Komi land and his student years, as well as about one of his famous theories, the theory of social mobility.

On October 29, the Center “Nasledie” took part in the work of the Interregional Scientific and Practical Local History Conference “Intercultural Relations of the Peoples of Russia in the European North”, held as part of the ethnoforum “We are Russians”. The conference was held in Yarensk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, which played a large role in the life of Pitirim Sorokin. The future sociologist was born in Turya of Yarensk County (now the territory of Knyazhpogost District of the Komi Republic), moreover political activity of Pitirim Sorokin was connected with Yarensk.

On October 19, 2018 the new season of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin was opened. The topic was “Priorities of modern youth: career or family?”

We are always glad not only to attend new educational institutions, but also to conduct lessons in schools with which we have been cooperating for a long time. So, on October 15, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” went to the secondary school No. 9 (Krasnozatonsky) and held for two 10^th grades lectures on the topics: “Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: childhood and student years” and “Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: revolution”.

On October 12, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Ekaterina Maiorova continued to acquaint pupils of secondary school No.3 with the biography of a famous scientist, our countrymen Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov, after giving a lecture on the topic: “The life and creative work of Kallistrat Zhakov”. This time listeners of the lecture were schoolchildren of the 11th grade.

On October 9, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin conducted a visiting Regional Olympiad for schoolchildren of the Ust-Vym district “The Life and Creative Work of Pitirim Sorokin” in the Secondary School of Aikino.

On October 10, pupils of the 10^th grades of the Komi National Gymnasium continued their acquaintance with the creative work of the famous writer and ethnographer Kallistrat Zhakov. This time, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” told the children about the author's famous poem – the fabulous “Biarmiya”.

On October 8, in the school № 3 (Syktyvkar), the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin gave two lectures about famous scientists, well-known people from the Komi Region – Pitirim Alexandrovich Sorokin and Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov for two 9^th grades.
