In 2016, 150 years have passed since the birth of our fellow countryman, the famous ethnographer and writer Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov. State Budget Organization of the Republic of Komi offers a lecture “Life and creative work of Kallistrat Zhakov” for schoolchildren (9-11 classes), dedicated to biography and the main directions of the creative work of the scientist.

On March 11, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” Evgenia Chipsanova again visited Gymnasium № 1 with a lecture on the topic “From war to peace: the contribution of the Sorokin’s family to the victory over fascism”.

On March 9, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” Evgenia Chipsanova conducted lectures for the pupils of Gymnasium № 1 (Ezhva) on the topic: “From war to peace: the contribution of the Sorokin’s family to the victory over fascism”.

State Budget Organization “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” and the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin announce the holding of the Republican Olympiad “Life and creative work of P.A. Sorokin and K.F. Zhakov”.

On the birthday of the famous Russian-American sociologist, our countryman Pitirim Sorokin held a solemn laying of flowers to the monument of a scientist near the Syktyvkar State University.

According to the tradition, on the eve of the birth of our countryman Pitirim Sorokin on February 3, Sorokin readings (Round table), organized by the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin, were held. In 2016, 150 years have passed since the birth of our famous countryman, Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov, so this year the Round table brought together issues related to the creative work of both thinkers, and the topic was as follows “The Man in the Sociocultural Picture of the World by Pitirim Sorokin and Kallistrat Zhakov”.

From September 15, 2015 to January 18, 2016, State Budget Organization of the Republic of Komi “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” within the framework of the scientific and practical conference “Young Researchers to the Republic of Komi” conducted an absentee Republican contest of research works on the topic: “Altruistic love and its importance for world progress in the understanding of Pitirim Sorokin” among students of educational institutions of the Republic of Komi.

On December 18, in the Information and Education Center “Russian Museum: a virtual branch” of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin was the presentation of the monograph by I.E. Fadeeva and V.A. Sulimov “The Anthropology of Pitirim Sorokin: Paradoxes of Integralism”, and also there was the presentation of the story by V.A. Sulimov “Closed Circle” (“ART” journal № 4, 2015).
