State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On the 13^th of April marks the 83^rd anniversary of Sergei Pitirimovich Sorokin, the son of P.A. Sorokin. Sergei Pitirimovich is a scientist working in the field of cytology, composer, professor of Harvard and Boston universities, as well as founder of the Pitirim Sorokin Foundation in the USA.

On the 12^th of April 2016, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin visited the school №35 with a lecture on the topic: “Sociology of Pitirim Sorokin: social mobility”.

From November 2015 to March 2016 in the Ust-Vymsky inter-settlement museum association and the central inter-settlement library after P.A. Sorokin of Aikino in the Ust-Vymsky district, you could see the travelling exhibition “From war to peace: the contribution of the Sorokin family to the victory over fascism” prepared by the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin.

The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin announces the release of the regular issue of the journal “Nasledie”. This issue is dedicated to the 150^th anniversary of the birth of Komi writer and philosopher Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov. This issue continues to publish scientific articles on topical issues of philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, and history.

On the 5^th of April, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin in the small assembly hall of the National Library of the Republic of Komi held a presentation of the book “Crime and Punishment, Feat and Reward”. It should be noted that this is the third presentation of this book, conducted jointly with students and professors of the Komi republican academy of state service and administration.

On the 29^th of March, 2016 was held a traditional event – the annual Republican Olympiad for high school students and students of junior courses on the topic “Life and creative work of P.A. Sorokin and K.F. Zhakov”. Its organizers were, as in past years, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin and the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 21^st of March, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Evgenia Chipsanova visited the school №22 (Ezhva) with a lecture about the life and creative work of Kallistrat Zhakov.

On the 16^th of March, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Evgenia Chipsanova visited the Gymnasium of Arts under the Head of the Republic of Komi with a lecture on the topic “Life and creative work of Kallistrat Zhakov”.

On the 15^th of March, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin continued the series of lectures in the Gymnasium № 1 (Ezhva). Topics of the classes were following: “From war to peace: the contribution of the Sorokin family to the victory over fascism” and “Sociology of P. Sorokin: social mobility”.

A regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin took place on the 11^th of March, 2016. The relevance of the topic “Is the future of the world possible without wars?” does not cause doubts in the current conditions. Particularly important is that Pitirim Sorokin devoted much of his research to the issues of war and peace. The participants of the debating club were students of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin.
