State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On the 15^th of November, the methodists of the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin conducted lectures for pupils of 9^th and 7^th grades of school number 38 on the topic: “Life and creative work of Kallistrat Zhakov”.

On the 10^th of November, the methodists of the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin conducted lectures for pupils of 10^th grade of school number 27 on topics: “Biography of Pitirim Sorokin: childhood and studentship” and “Pitirim Sorokin about war and revolution”.

The special issue of Vestnik of the Syktyvkar State University (Humanitarian Sciences), devoted to P.A. Sorokin was presented at the Syktyvkar State University on the 7^th of November. This presentation was dated for the 100^th anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia. The staff of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin were invited to this presentation.

The science-fiction novel “Laundry of Human souls” by Pitirim Sorokin was presented on the 20th of October in the Syktyvkar State University. The book containing the novel was published by the Center “Nasledie” with support of the Ministry of National Policy of the Komi republic.

The debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin started a new season on the 13^th of October. There was a regular meeting on the topic “Nuclear weapons: salvation or threat?”

State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” informs that a series of lectures conducting by the Center is expanded. Now it includes a new lecture “Fairy Biarmiya of Kallistrat Zhakov”. It devoted to the main literary work of our well-known countrymen.

On the 7^th of September, in Archangelsk at the conference “Strength of the Weak: the power of unity and mutual support of men and women in the world’s cultures” held in Archangelsk, Marina Vasilevna Lomonosova, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Sociology of the St. Petersburg State University, read an open lecture: “Issues of family, marriage and gender problems at scientific heritage of Pitirim Sorokin: from “Sociology of revolution” (1925) to “American sex revolution” (1956)”.

The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin announces the release of the regular issue of the journal “Nasledie” № 1(10) 2017. This issue contains articles of scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Riga, Novosibirsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Saransk, and Syktyvkar.

State budget organization of the Komi Republic Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin announces the holding of the absentee Republic contest of research works on the topic: «The Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War in the Komi Region in Faces and Fates».

On the 18^th of August, 2017, in the Presidential Library (St. Petersburg) was held the opening of the multimedia exhibition «Life and creative work of the outstanding sociologist of the XX century P.A. Sorokin». The exhibition was prepared by the Center «Nasledie» after Pitirim Sorokin jointly with the Presidential Library with the organizational support of the Representative Office of the Komi Republic in the North-West region of the Russian Federation.
