State Budget Organization of the Komi Republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” announces the holding of the absentee Republican contest of research works dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of K. F. Zhakov.

The opening of the exhibition “Zyryansky Faust”, dedicated to the 150^th anniversary of the birth of K.F. Zhakov, took place in the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg on the 15^th of September, 2016. The exhibition was prepared by the Representation of the Republic of Komi together with the Russian National Library with the support of the Ministry of National Policy of the Republic of Komi, the National Museum of the Republic of Komi, the National Library of the Republic of Komi, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin, the Museum of History and Culture of Syktyvdinsky District of the Republic of Komi, that submitted materials from their funds.

September 8-10, 2016 in the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin with the assistance of the Government of the Republic of Komi and State Budget Organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” the II International Scientific Conference “Pitirim Sorokin and paradigms of the global development of the XXIth century” was held.

The Republic of Komi and the scientific heritage of Pitirim Sorokin (speech at the opening of the II Scientific and Innovation Forum “SorokINN” and the International Scientific Conference “Pitirim Sorokin and paradigms of the global development of the XXIth century”).

On the 2^nd of September the director of the Center “Nasledie’ after Pitirim Sorokin O.Y. Kuzivanova spoke at the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Komi under the RF President (Moscow) with a lecture on the topic: “Far from the Motherland: the contribution of the Sorokin family to the victory over fascism”.

The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin is pleased to announce the publication of the regular volume of the Collected works of P. Sorokin. This volume includes the first two books that famous sociologist wrote in emigration at once after his moving to the USA.

On the 28^th of June, the Center “Nasledie” hosted a distinguished guest – First Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia, a member of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, Vladimir Zorin.

On the 19^th of May in Syktyvkar, the opening of the International symposium “K.F. Zhakov: life and creative work”, dedicated to the 150^th anniversary of the birth of the famous Komi writer, scholar of the late XIX – XX century, Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov was held. The event was conducted by the Ministry of National Policy of the Republic of Komi and the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Komi Republic together with the State Budget Organization “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”, State Autonomous Organization of the Komi Republic "House of Friendship of Peoples of the Komi Republic", the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin, the administration of the municipal district “Syktyvdinsky”.

The brochure “Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov: life and creative work”, which is the regular edition in the series “On the life and creative work of the outstanding representatives of the Komi land” was published. It highlights the stages of his life and the main ideas of one of the most famous Komi scholars of the late XIX- early XX century Kallistrat Falaleevich Zhakov. The brochure is dated for the 150^th anniversary of the birth of the scientist.

On the 28^th of April, 2016, was held a regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin. The topic was chosen very relevant: “Cancellation of elections during the economic crisis and sanctions: for or against?”. Students of the Komi republican academy of state service and administration Vladislav Golodov and Alexander Kutilov and students of the Institute of Social Technologies of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin Yulia Polyakova and Victoria Suntsova found out whether the postponement of the elections would be tolerated in times of strong geopolitical and economic upheavals.
