State budget organization of the Komi republic “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”.

On November 26, 2015, the regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin took place. The topic was chosen uneasy and very relevant: “Is society progressing?”.

On November 20 and 21, in the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin, lectures were given by Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Sociology of the St. Petersburg State University Marina Lomonosova.

On November 18, the staff of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin together with professors and students of the Komi republican academy of state service and administration held the presentation of the third volume of Pitirim Sorokin's Collected works - “Crime and Punishment, Feat and Reward”.

The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin has been working on the publication Pitirim Alexandrovich Sorokin's Collected works for the last two years. This is a painstaking and very interesting work, the results of which are well-designed volumes that bring to the reader the thoughts of the famous sociologist.

On November 12 marks the 5^th anniversary since the founding of the State Budget Organization of the Republic of Komi “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin”. Over the years, the Center “Nasledie” has made a significant contribution to increasing the accessibility of the scientific and cultural heritage of Pitirim Sorokin: besides publishing of the Collected works of the famous sociologist, twice a year the Center “Nasledie” publishes the eponymous scientific journal, which reflects recent research in the field of humanitarian sciences.

The Director of State Budget Organization of the Republic of Komi “Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin” O.Y. Kuzivanova became the moderator of the Round Table on the development of interethnic and interconfessional relations in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which was held in Naryan-Mar on November 7 and was organized by the Department for Interethnic Relations of the Department of Affairs of the Indigenous Minorities and National Policy of the NAO Administration.

On October 22, the methodists of the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin Alexander Kanev and Evgenia Chipsanova took part in the videoconference “Cultural platform of modern education: disciplinary approach VS cultural and artistic practices”. The videoconference was held at the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin and gathered scientists from Syktyvkar and Saint-Petersburg, who presented their vision of contemporary cultural problems of education in Russia.

On October 15-16 the Director of the Center “Nasledie” O.Y. Kuzivanova took part in the All-Russian scientific-practical conference “V Sukharevsky Readings”. Sociologists from Moscow, Saransk, Saratov, Samara, Yoskar-Ola, Ulyanovsk, and Yekaterinburg gathered in Saransk, in the Institute of Regional Studies, where the conference was held, to discuss problems of regional differentiation and consolidation of social space in Russia.

A regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin took place on the 8^th of October, 2015. The topic was chosen uneasy: “Corruption in Russia: a permanent or temporary phenomenon”. Students of the Institute of History and Law Roman Shelayev and Roman Osipov and students of the Institute of Social Technologies of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin Yulia Polyakova and Victoria Suntsova decided to understand this issue. Young people insisted that corruption in Russia is ineradicable, the girls argued that this phenomenon is temporary.

The regular issue of the journal “Nasledie” was released, in which the latest research of the heritage of Pitirim Sorokin were published.
