The Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin announces the release of the regular issue of the journal “Nasledie” №2 (9) 2016.

On the 13th of April, Sergei Pitirimovich Sorokin turned 84 years old.

On the 5^th of April, 2017, in the Museum of history and culture (Syktyvdinsky district) was held a grand opening of a new temporary exhibition “From war to peace: The Sorokin family’s contribution to the Victory over Fascism” provided by the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin.

On the 29^th of March, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin together with the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin held the annual Olympiad for high school students and students of junior courses.

A regular meeting of the debating club at the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin took place on the 9^th of March, 2017. The topic of debate - do western values carry a threat to Russia? – has been relevant for many years and is actively discussed both at the domestic level and in the political life.

State budget organization of the Komi republic «Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin» and the Institute of Humanitarian Sciences of the Syktyvkar State University after Pitirim Sorokin announce the holding of the Republican Olympiad “The revolution in the life and creative work of Pitirim Sorokin (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution of 1917)”.

On the 25^th of February, the director of the Center “Nasledie” O.Y. Kuzivanova told about the activities of the Center “Nasledie” to the participants of the excursion “Walks in Ust-Sysolsk”, organized by the Komi regional division of the Russian society “Memorial”.

On the 10^th of February, the methodist of the Center “Nasledie” Alexander Kanev conducted a lecture, dedicated to the teachings of P. Sorokin on social mobility.

On the 3^rd of February, the Center “Nasledie” after Pitirim Sorokin jointly with the Institute of Language, Literature and History, Komi Science Center, Ural Division, Russian Academy of Sciences held the traditional Sorokin Readings (round table) on the topic: «Leaflets from the Russian diary» (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution of 1917)». In 2017, marks 100^th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, which was a turning point in Russian history. Pitirim Sorokin, involved in the whirlwind of the two revolutions of 1917, left valuable memories that shed light on many aspects of the epoch-making events of those days.
